Coming early 2020, ActiveSeam® 3 – Merrow’s newest innovation – builds on its predecessors with a technically superior design that cannot be replicated by any other machine.  ActiveSeam® 3 provides unprecedented stretch and strength to all performance garments.

• Joins differently textured fabrics, including non-wovens and neoprene

ActiveSeam® 3 retains a flat profile, yet is 30% stronger than a six-thread flatlock stitch that uses the same thread, fabric, and SPI settings. The stitch has a specialized threading to be soft on the inside, but tough on the outside for maximum comfort and durability. The flexible build fits and moves better than any other stitch. Activewear and other next-to-skin garments are lighter, stretchier, and stronger with ActiveSeam® 3.

The world's most delicate stitch

The Merrow MG-2DNR-1

Say hello to the Merrow MG-2DNR-1, also known as the MicroPurl. Smaller than any other available stitch on the market, the MicroPurl provides an unmatched less-than-one-millimeter (1/32”) overlock design. This stitch size, before only achievable by hand, is subtle in clothing, ideal for lingerie, baby garments, and ultra-delicate medical equipment.

The MicroPurl machine sews at 5500 rpm, using a specially-designed apparatus to roll edges in a miniature overlock hem. The MicroPurl machine, part of Merrow’s Decorative line, has a glossy maroon coating to distinguish it from traditional overlock machines. MicroPurl prevents fraying on delicate fabrics like chiffon, silk, lace, and more. MicroPurl redefines “small” for delicate edging.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY


A six acre campus in downtown Fall River featuring the renovated 300,000 sq. ft. Mill complex, built in 1871. The Merrow building contains a technology development center, 30,000 sq. ft. of flex retail with commercial kitchens, coworking spaces, the largest soft goods manufacturer in New England, and business Incubator. 

Up to date with flexible workspaces from 150 to 10,000 sq. ft. located in both federal HUB and Opportunity zones. With plans to add a women's health center to the already diversified space, the Merrow building is located one minute from the highway on one of the busiest intersections in the city and is less than one mile from Charleton Hospital.

  The Merrow building is less than 20 minutes from Providence RI, one hour from Boston, and three hours from New York. It is also on two primary bus routes, and features the largest workforce training program in the country for sewing. Managed by TIGIR (Textile Innovation Group for Instrumentation and Research), the building includes office and studio spaces, a health and wellness center, manufacturing floor, and design development offices.

502 Bedford St. Fall River, MA is a strategic center for commercial development. Lessees will have the advantage of being part of an ecosystem of development and manufacturing businesses.
